I have been doing embroidery since very young age, and till today I still continue to do small small small projects which makes me feel relaxed.
The “Perfect” Stitch
Historically, the principal difference between good n bad embroidery was defined by the art of creating a perfectly neat, even stitch.
once you have learned to do these stitches properly, you will be able to use them properly, you will be able to use them appropriately and with ease in any piece of work, freestyle or traditional. you can then look at the more advance variations and choose your stitch with full knowledge of their potential within the composition you wish to create.
. we will begin the course by learning
- The basic material required
- How to begin (threading the needle, tie knot, transfer design, fix hoop, finish backside of hoop)
- Tips n tricks within lecture
Materials Required:
- Medium quality cotton fabric (White or any light color)
- Embroidery hoop (wood or plastic)
- Anchor or DMC or any brand cotton embroidery threads
- Hand sewing needle (Crewel no.5 or 6/ Chenille no. 22/ 24)
- A pair of scissor or thread cutter
- A ruler or scale
- Tracing or carbon paper
- Pencil or Heat Resistance or Water soluble pen
- Embroidery stand (optional)
In this course we will learn how to create this lovely butterfly design using few stitches and how to combine two different patterns into one single design.
We will begin learning these stitches on straight, parallel lines, after we have practiced enough than will learn how to embroider the butterfly design.
To begin learning this course you need to have a Basic knowledge about embroidery and have an interest to learn this art form.
These course is open for all those who are interested to learn hand embroidery which has being going around from centuries.
